Ford Motor Company is offering customers who own or lease a 1994 Lincoln Continental equipped with CFC-12 (Chlorofluorocarbon) air conditioning systems a free conversion to a HFC-134a system.

The Reason For This Program

Your vehicle is equipped with a CFC-12 air conditioning system. CFC-12, when released into the atmosphere, is believed to be harmful to the earth's stratospheric ozone layer. Ford has developed an aggressive program that eliminated the use of CFCs. We have taken this action as part of our ongoing efforts to increase customer satisfaction.

NO Charge Service

At no charge to you, your Lincoln/Mercury Dealer will convert your 1994 Lincoln Continental air conditioning system to a non-ozone depleting refrigerant, HFC-134a. Other system repairs, if required, are covered under the new vehicle limited warranty or are the customer's responsibility if the warranty has expired. This conversion is optional and will not effect the new vehicle warranty. You can choose to take advantage of this program through December 31, 1996, regardless of vehicle mileage.

Performance

With HFC-134a, air conditioning performance is designed to be equal to the original system.

How Long Will It Take?

The time needed for this service is about three (3) hours. Due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need the vehicle for one full working day.

Call Your Dealer

Call your dealer for a service date and to ensure parts are available. If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date. Parts would be expected to arrive within a week.

When you bring your vehicle in, show the dealer this letter. If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.

To avoid inconvenience, lease customers may have this service performed after their lease has expired.
