Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Drain cooling system.
2. Remove lower nut on both righthand engine mounts.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Loosen accessory drive belt idler, then the drive belt and water pump pulley.
5. Remove air suspension pump.
6. Remove power steering pump bracket attaching bolts, then position bracket and pump aside.
7. Remove compressor front support bracket, leaving compressor in place.
8. Disconnect coolant bypass hose and heater hose from water pump.

Water Pump Assembly:

9. Remove water pump attaching bolts, then the pump. Discard old gasket.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Coat threads of No. 1 water pump bolt with suitable sealer. Tighten water pump attaching bolts to 15-22 ft lb.
