SUBJECT: Safety Recall 91S21 - Certain 1991 Lincoln Town Cars for Inspection and, if Necessary, Replace and/or Reroute the Engine Compartment Fuel Line

AFFECTED VEHICLES Certain 1991 Lincoln Town Cars built from
8/24/90 to 9/30/90.

REASONS FOR RECALL Some of these cars may have been built with inadequate clearance between the fuel line and intermediate steering shaft. In some cases, the fuel line may contact the steering shaft and eventually rub through resulting in fuel leakage. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.

To correct this condition, the fuel line is to be inspected and, if necessary, repositioned to provide adequate clearance. If the fuel line is damaged or misrouted, it will be replaced.

RENTAL CARS If the fuel line is to be replaced, the dealer will provide a rental car (free of charge except for fuel) to the owner.
