LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1991 TOWN CAR


ISSUE: Whenever a CIII power steering pump is replaced on vehicles, built before 10/1/90, a new service power steering pressure line must also be installed because of a design change.

ACTION: If the CIII power steering pump is replaced, install a new service power steering pressure line. This new service power steering line contains a short tube nut. Re-using the old pressure line with a long tube nut may result in high steering efforts and pump damage. Refer to the 1991 Lincoln Town Car Shop Manual, Section 13-52, for service details.
