Steering Gear to Fluid Cooler Return HoseMaterial:
Removal and Installation
CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. Using a suitable suction device, siphon the power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
3. Remove the 4 pushpin retainers and the RH splash shield.
4. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering fluid cooler hose from the return line.
5. Release the clamp and disconnect the return hose from the return line at the steering gear.
6. Remove the 2 power steering return hose bracket-to-subframe bolts.
^ To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs).
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Fill the power steering system.
