Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair

WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP AND RESERVOIR







Removal and Installation

Windshield Washer Pump and Reservoir
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. NOTE: Do not complete this step if only removing the washer pump.

Remove the air cleaner assembly.

3. NOTE: Do not complete this step if only removing the washer pump.

Remove the RF tire and wheel.







4. NOTE: Do not complete this step if only removing the washer pump.

Remove the RF splash shield.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the pin-type retainers.
3 Remove the RF splash shield.

5. Disconnect the windshield washer hoses from the washer pump and drain the washer solvent into a suitable container.
6. Disconnect the washer pump electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the reservoir sensor electrical connector.
8. Remove the 3 reservoir bolts.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

9. Remove the windshield washer pump and reservoir.

10. Disconnect the windshield washer pump hoses and drain the washer solvent into a suitable container.
11. Disconnect the windshield washer pump motor electrical connector.

12. CAUTION:
- When installing a new windshield washer pump be careful not to damage the rubber grommet.
- Do not operate the windshield washer pump before filling the reservoir. Failure to do so could result in premature pump failure.


Remove the windshield washer pump and seal.

13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
