Selector Lever Knob
Selector Lever KnobRemoval
1. Remove the transmission selector lever.
2. Using a small screwdriver, carefully lift the front of the knob bezel.
^ Do not bend the bezel.
3. Pull down on the knob shroud and boot. Remove the knob locating screw.
4. Carefully remove the horseshoe clip from the rear of the knob.
5. With the horseshoe clip removed, lift up and remove the knob bezel and shift knob.
6. NOTE: The spring may dislodge from the shift rod pocket. Locate and retain the spring for installation.
Remove the spring from the top of the shift rod.
7. Remove the electrical connector from the wiper switch pocket and disconnect the connector.
8. Remove the shift knob assembly.
Installation
1. Install the knob bezel into the bottom of the shift knob until the retainer snaps in place.
2. Install the horseshoe clip in the shift knob.
3. Verify the horseshoe clip is fully seated.
4. Position the wires to the front of the shift knob for clearance and extend the release button.
5. With the spring inserted in the shift rod pocket, position the knob on the shift rod.
6. Install the knob screw.
7. Position the wires through the knob shroud and through the front of the boot.
8. Wrap the wires around the lever 2 times from left to right.
9. Connect the electrical connector and position it in the wiper switch pocket.
10. Pull up on the knob shroud and boot until the retainers are seated.
11. Strike the top of the knob bezel with the palm of your hand to seat the bezel in the knob.
12. Install the transmission selector lever assembly.
