Shifter A/T: Service and Repair

Transmission Selector Lever





1. Remove the left and right console access panels.





2. Remove the switch module from the console finish plate and disconnect the electrical connectors.





3. Lift the front of the bezel to separate the bezel from the console finish plate.





4. Remove the screw and remove the console finish plate.
^ Feed the shift bezel through the hole in the finish panel.
5. Remove the rear half of the center console.





6. Disconnect the shift cable from the transmission selector lever arm.





7. Disconnect the shift cable from the transmission selector lever bracket.





8. Disconnect the electrical connector.





9. Remove the 2 bolts retaining the left side of the shifter.
^ To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).





10. Remove the 2 bolts retaining the right side of the shifter.
^ To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
11. Remove the transmission selector lever assembly from the vehicle.
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
