Test A: No Communication With The VAPS Module/Unable To Enter Self-Test

PINPOINT TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE VAPS MODULE/UNABLE TO ENTER SELF-TEST

Test A1-A2:

CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.

Normal Operation
The variable assist power steering (VAPS) module operates at a voltage between 10 and 17 volts. Voltage is supplied by circuit 1001. (WH/YE) (B+ at all times) and circuit 1003 (GY/YE) (ignition feed). Ground is provided through circuit 1205 (BK).

Possible Causes
^ voltage supply:
- circuit 1001. (WH/YE) open
- circuit 1003 (GY/YE) open
^ ground circuit 1205 (BK) open
