Camber and Caster Adjustment

Front





1. NOTE: The upper arm-to-frame mounting bolts have set shims that must be replaced with washers (W-705040-S426) to allow for adjustment of the arm in the frame slot. The vehicle should be supported by the lower arm to ease movement of the upper arm in the slot.

Remove the nuts and the shims.
^ Discard the nuts and shims.
^ Install new washers (W-705040-S426) and nuts and snug the nuts.





2. To adjust the caster and camber, refer to the following chart.
^ Make adjustments that require moving the front and the rear of the upper arm equally.





3. Tighten to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.).

Front Caster Split Adjustment

NOTE: A left hand lower arm-to-frame rearward mounting bolt must be installed with a cam bolt kit (313236) to allow for adjustment in the frame slot. The vehicle must be supported by the frame to ease the movement of the lower arm in the frame slot.





1. Remove and discard the left lower arm-to-frame rearward mounting nut and bolt.
2. Install the cam, bolt and nut.
^ Snug the nut.
3. Rotate the cam bolt to adjust the left side caster.

4. CAUTION: Make sure that the weight of the vehicle is resting on the wheel and tire assemblies before tightening the nut.

While holding the cam, tighten the nut to 200 Nm (148 ft. lbs.).
5. Check the caster and, if necessary, repeat the procedure.

Rear





1. NOTE: The lower arm rearward mounting bolt has a set shim that must be removed and replaced with a washer (W-705040-S426) to allow for the adjustment of the arm in the frame slot.

Remove the nut and the set shim.
^ Discard the nut and set shim.
^ Install the washer (W-705040-S426) and the nut and snug the nut.





2. NOTE: A prybar may be used between the lower arm and the frame pocket to aid in moving the arm outward.

To decrease the camber, move the lower arm outward.





3. NOTE: Adjustable pliers may be used to aid in moving the arm inward.

To increase the camber, move the lower arm inward.





4. Tighten to 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs.).
5. Check and, if necessary, adjust the rear toe. Refer to Toe Adjustment.
