Normal Operation
When auto-lock is enabled, the vehicle security module reads inputs from the door ajar switches (all doors closed) and receives input from the digital transmission range (TR) sensor and the brake pedal position (BPP) switch from the instrument cluster via the universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART)-based protocol (UBP) network.

Once the vehicle security module receives both inputs, the doors automatically lock.
