4R100 Automatic Transmission

Transmission Insulator and Retainer

Removal
1. Position the vehicle on a hoist. Place in NEUTRAL.





2. Remove the bolts and remove the dampener.





3. Remove the rear transmission support nuts.
4. Install a suitable transmission jack.





5. Remove the LH heat shield bolt.





6. Remove the RH heat shield bolt.





7. Remove the crossmember bolts and crossmember.





8. Remove the rear transmission mount bolts and the rear transmission mount.

Installation





1. Install the rear transmission mount and the bolts.





2. Install the crossmember and the crossmember bolts.





3. Install the RH heat shield bolt.





4. Install the LH heat shield bolt.
5. Remove the high-lift transmission jack.





6. Install the rear transmission support nuts.





7. Install the dampener and the dampener bolts.
8. Lower the vehicle.
