Child Seat Tether Attachment: Service and Repair
CHILD SAFETY SEAT TETHER ANCHORREMOVAL
WARNING: All safety belt assemblies including retractors, buckles, front seat belt buckle support assemblies (slide bar), shoulder belt height adjusters (if so equipped), child safety seat tether attachments and attaching hardware should be inspected after any collision. All belt assemblies should be replaced unless a qualified technician finds the assemblies show no damage and operate properly. Belt assemblies not in use during a collision should also be inspected and replaced if either damage or improper operation is noted.
NOTE:
- Second row LH side seat removed for clarity.
- Carpet removed for clarity.
- Second row center tether anchor only available on the 40/20/40 seat.
- Sealant must be applied to the tether anchor bolts when installed.
1. To access the second row tether anchor, tilt the second row seat forward.
2. To access the second row tether anchors, remove the third row seat cushion and position aside the carpet.
3. To access the third row tether anchors, remove the rear hatch scuff plate.
4. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the illustration and table.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
