SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: REAR AIRBAG SENSOR: INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH

(a) Turn the engine switch off.

(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

(c) Install the rear airbag sensor with the nut.

Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
* If the rear airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
* When installing the rear airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

(d) Check that the rear airbag sensor is not loose.

(e) Connect the connector.

5. INSTALL ASSIST GRIP PLUG (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) Installation

6. INSTALL FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER Installation

7. INSTALL NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP Installation

8. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK Installation

9. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER LAP BELT ANCHOR COVER Installation

10. INSTALL REAR FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) Installation

11. INSTALL REAR FLOOR MAT REAR SUPPORT PLATE (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) Installation

12. INSTALL NO. 1 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) Installation

13. INSTALL FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) Installation

14. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover) Installation

15. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Installation

16. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation

17. INSTALL QUARTER SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) Installation

18. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR STEP COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat) Installation

19. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Install the rear No. 2 seat assembly Removal.

20. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

21. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
