Applicability

Introduction

Some vehicles may exhibit a lack of heat from the HVAC system. The EGR cooler assembly has been updated to address this condition.

Production Change Information





This TSIB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

The 12th digit of VIN (underlined) indicates the plant line.





Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.





Parts Information

Repair Procedure

1. Inspect for coolant leaks.

Disconnect the front No.3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly and inspect for coolant.

^ If coolant is found proceed to step 2.

^ If NO coolant is found reinstall the No.3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly then inspect vehicle for other sources of coolant leaks and diagnose per the Repair Manual.

2. Reinstall the No.3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

3. Replace the EGR cooler assembly and EGR pipe No.2.

4. After performing EGR cooler and pipe installation add coolant to the coolant reservoir until full.

5. Test drive to confirm proper operation of the system.
