BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: REAR SPEED SENSOR (for 2WD): REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The following procedure is for the LH side.
* The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly
* If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

4. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER Removal

5. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE

(a) Remove the bolt and No. 1 bracket.





(b) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the rear speed sensor.

6. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Disassembly

7. REMOVE REAR DISC Removal

8. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly Removal.

HINT
* The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
* If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
