3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR PUMP: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL Removal

4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
- w/ Navigation System:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH






(a) Remove the 3 bolts and 2 screws.
(b) Turn the clip indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove the fender splash shield.
7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH
(a) Remove the screw, and disconnect the liner from the front bumper cover.
(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 3 screws.
(c) Remove the 5 clips.
(d) Partially remove the fender liner.
HINT:
It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the air pump can be removed.

8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL FRONT RH Removal

9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE






(a) Engine Room Side:
(1) Disconnect the 3 clamps.
(2) Disconnect the No. 2 hose.
(3) Using a clip remover, remove the clamp from the body panel.
(b) Front Fender RH Inside:
(1) Disconnect the No. 2 hose from the air pump.
12. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE






(a) Engine Room Side:
(1) Disconnect the clamp and No. 3 hose.
(2) Using a clip remover, remove the clamp from the body panel.
(b) Front Fender RH Inside:
(1) Disconnect the clamp and No. 3 hose from the air pump.
(2) Using a clip remover, remove the clamp from the bracket.
13. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET






(a) Disconnect the 2 air pump connectors and detach the 3 wire harness claws.






(b) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and air pump assembly with bracket.
14. REMOVE AIR PUMP INLET






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and air pump inlet.
15. DISCONNECT NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE
(a) Disconnect the 2 hoses.
16. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY






(a) Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clamps and remove the air pump from the bracket.
(b) Disconnect the 6 air pump insulators.
