EXTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: SIDE STEP: INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- When installing the side step, heat the vehicle body and side step using a heat light.
Standard:





NOTICE:
Do not heat the vehicle body and side step excessively.

1. INSTALL SIDE STEP ASSEMBLY
(a) Clean the vehicle body surface.
(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.
(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
(b) If reusing the side step:
Clean the side step.
(1) Using a heat light, heat the side step.
(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the side step.
(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
(4) Apply new double-sided tape to the side step, as shown in the illustration.





(c) Install the side step.
(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and side step.
(2) Remove the peeling paper from the face of the side step.
HINT:
After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.
(3) Attach the 10 clips to install the side step.
(4) Install the 6 bolts.
Torque: 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf)
(5) Install the screw.
(6) Connect the connector.
