1. Remove the HV Battery upper cover and inspect the HV Battery area for liquid intrusion.
For instructions on how to remove the HV Battery upper cover follow the Repair Manual procedure up to the point of cover removal (steps 1-16 do NOT remove Battery Smart Unit or HV Battery at this time).
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year RX 400h Repair Manual:
^ 2006 / 2007 / 2008 RX 400h:
Engine/Hybrid System - Hybrid/Battery Control System - "P310 Hybrid Battery Control: HV Battery: Removal"
2. If evidence of liquid intrusion is found in the HV Battery area inspect the System Main Relay Assembly and the rubber drain plug located below the battery assembly.
3. If the System Main Relay Assembly is wet or shows signs of liquid intrusion then replace the assembly.
Refer to TIS applicable model year RX 400h Repair Manual:
^ 2006 / 2007 / 2008 RX 400h:
Engine/Hybrid System - Hybrid/Battery Control System - "R310 Hybrid Battery Control: HV Relay Assembly: Removal"
4. Remove the HV Battery Assembly and inspect the rubber drain plug in the floor pan below the battery. Follow the Repair Manual procedure below to remove the Battery Smart Unit and HV Battery (steps 17-25).
Refer to TIS applicable model year RX 400h Repair Manual:
^ 2006 / 2007 / 2008 RX 400h:

8. Test fit the Hybrid Battery Tray No.1 (P/N G92H1-48010) on top of the HV Battery Assembly.
A. Slide the tray under the center seat belt bracket and ensure that the front edge of the tray is properly aligned with the HV Battery Upper Cover.
B. Be sure that the tray does not cover the rear seat alignment pin holes.
9. Once proper alignment is confirmed use the 4 double-sided tape strips provided on the tray to attach the tray to the HV Battery case.
10. Complete interior reassembly in reverse order of disassembly.
