Removal and Replacement

CONDENSER
REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE LH COVER NO.2
3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP W/ INLET
5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER STAY CENTER
6. DISCONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE NO.1
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 from the cooler condenser assembly.
b. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1.
NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
7. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
b. Remove the O-ring from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.
8. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the bolt and raise the bracket as given in the illustration.
b. Remove the cap.
c. Disconnect the connector.
d. Remove the 5 bolts, nut and radiator support upper sub-assembly.
9. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER LH SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 bolts and radiator support upper LH sub-assembly.
10. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER RH SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 bolts and radiator support upper RH sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY
a. Release the 4 clamps and wire harness.
b. Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect sub with fan radiator assembly.
c. Remove the 2 screws and cooler condenser assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the cooler condenser assembly with the 2 screws.
Torque: 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)
HINT: If the condenser is replaced with a new one, add compressor oil to the new condenser.
Capacity: 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil: ND-11 or equivalent
2. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER RH SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the radiator support upper RH sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque:
Bolt A
5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
Bolt B
7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf)
Bolt C
3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)
3. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER LH SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the radiator support upper LH sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque:
Bolt A
5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
Bolt B
7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf)
Bolt C
3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)
4. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the radiator support upper sub-assembly with the 5 bolts and nut.
Torque:
Bolt
7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf)
Nut
8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connectors.
c. Install the cap.
d. Install the bracket with the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf)
5. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the tube and connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to the new O-ring and fitting surface of the pipe joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 11 or equivalent
NOTE:
- Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent.
- If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.
c. Install the O-ring on the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
d. Connect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly to the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf)
6. INSTALL COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE NO.1
a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the tube and connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and fitting surface of the pipe joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 11 or equivalent
NOTE:
- Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent.
- If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.
c. Install the O-ring to the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1.
d. Connect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 on the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf)
7. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER STAY CENTER
8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP W/ INLET
9. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
10. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE LH COVER NO.2
11. CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT
12. WARM UP COMPRESSOR
13. INSPECT REFRIGERANT LEAK
