Front Wiper Motor And Link:

FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE WIPER ARM LH
a. Remove the head cap.
b. Remove the nut and wiper arm.

3. REMOVE WIPER ARM RH
a. Remove the head cap.
b. Remove the nut and wiper arm.

4. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL
5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH
6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH




7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 4 bolts.
c. Disconnect the wiper motor from the wiper link, and then remove the wiper motor.

8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 6 bolts.
b. Remove the wiper link through the service hole.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the wiper link through the service hole, and then install the 6 bolts.

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

HINT: When installing the wiper link, connect the claw of the wiper link to the panel.

2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the wiper motor to the wiper link.
b. Install the 4 bolts.
c. Connect the connector.

3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
4. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH
5. INSTALL HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

6. INSTALL WIPER ARM




a. Operate the wiper once and turn the wiper switch OFF.
b. Install the wiper arm and tighten the nuts by hand.




c. Adjust the installation position of the wiper arm to the positions shown in the illustration.
d. Tighten the nuts.

Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
