Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair

AIR COOLED OIL COOLER

Components:






REMOVAL
1. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Release the 2 clips and remove the radiator grille.





2. DISCONNECT POWER STEERING OIL COOLER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the power steering oil cooler.





3. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY
a. Loosen the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 hoses.





b. Remove the 4 bolts and oil cooler.





c. Remove the 8 bolts, 2 oil cooler brackets and 2 stays.





4. REMOVE OIL COOLER PIPE BRACKET
a. Move the 2 clips to disconnect 2 hoses.





b. Remove the 2 bolts and the oil cooler pipe bracket.
c. Move the 2 clips to disconnect the 2 hoses.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL OIL COOLER PIPE BRACKET
a. Connect the 2 hoses and move the 2 clips to the connection.
b. Install the oil cooler pipe bracket with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 4.9 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 inch lbs.)





c. Connect the 2 hoses and move the 2 clips to the connection.





2. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the 2 oil cooler brackets and 2 stays with the 8 bolts.
Torque: 4.9 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 inch lbs.)





b. Install the oil cooler with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 12 Nm (117 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.)





c. Connect the 2 hoses and move the 2 clips to the connection.





3. CONNECT POWER STEERING OIL COOLER SUB ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the power steering oil cooler with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 inch lbs.)
4. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the radiator grille and attach the 2 clips.
5. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
6. CHECK AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
