Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY.
4. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE.
5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
a. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and control connector.
b. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.
c. Remove the 3 bolts, nut, throttle body and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY
a. Install a new gasket and the throttle body with the 3 bolts and nut.
Torque: 14 N.m (142 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses.
c. Connect the throttle position sensor and control connector.
2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
3. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
7. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
a. Check for engine coolant leaks.
