Transfer Case Clutch Solenoid

Removal

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

CAUTION: Connect T4, prior to removal of the solenoid.

NOTE:
Some fluid spillage is inevitable during this operation.

2. Remove the transfer case clutch solenoid.
^ Position a container to collect the fluid spillage.
^ Remove the 3 Torx screws.
^ Use T4 to energize the solenoid.
^ Detach from the selector lever.
^ Disconnect the electrical connector.





Installation

CAUTION: Make sure the seal is installed correctly.

1. Install the transfer case clutch solenoid.
^ Clean the components.
^ Connect the electrical connector.
^ Use T4 to energize the solenoid.
^ Install to the selector lever.
^ Tighten the Torx screws to 6 Nm (4 ft. lbs.).

2. Check and top-up the transfer case fluid level.
3. Using T4, calibrate a new transfer case control solenoid.
