Wheel Knuckle

Service Repair No - 60.25.01


Special Service Tools














Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the plenum chamber panel.
2. Release the hood support struts and secure the hood in an upright position.





3. WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the wheel and tire.

5. CAUTION: Discard the bolt.

Torque:
Stage 1. 45 Nm
Stage 2. 80 Degrees





6. Torque:
110 Nm





7. WARNING: Make sure that a new nut is installed.

CAUTION: Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.

Remove and discard the nut.

Torque:
60 Nm





8. Torque:
5 Nm





9. WARNING: Make sure that a new tie-rod end nut is installed.

CAUTION: Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.

Torque:
80 Nm





10. Special Service Tools: Separator, Ball Joint





11. CAUTION: Make sure that no load is placed on the brake hose.

Torque:
200 Nm





12. Torque:
35 Nm





13. Torque:
10 Nm





14. Special Service Tools: Lever, Wheel Knuckle





15. NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

Special Service Tools: G-Clamp





16. CAUTION: Do not allow halfshafts to hang unsupported at one end or joint damage will occur.





17. WARNING: Make sure that a new lower arm ball joint nut is installed.

CAUTION: Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.

Special Service Tools: Splitter, Ball Joints

Torque:
100 Nm





Installation

1. CAUTION: Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted and is correctly located.

CAUTION: Nuts and bolts must be tightened with the weight of the vehicle on the suspension.


NOTE: Make sure that all the component mating faces are clean.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
