Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve
Service Repair No - 17.15.39
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the purge valve assembly.
^ Plug open connections to prevent contamination.
^ Disconnect the line at both ends.
^ Disconnect the purge valve electrical connector.
^ Remove the bolt.
^ Release the clip.
CAUTION:
^ Damage will occur to the purge valve line assembly, if it is distorted in any way.
^ Before disconnecting or removing the components, ensure the area around the joint faces and connections are clean and dry.
Installation
1. Install the purge valve assembly.
^ Clean the component mating faces.
^ Connect the PCV line.
^ Tighten the purge valve bolt to 6 Nm (4 ft. lbs.).
^ Secure the line clip.
^ Connect the PCV electrical connector.
2. Install the engine cover.
3. Connect the battery ground cable.
