Front Suspension

Front Stabilizer Bar

Service Repair No - 60.10.01


Removal

1. Remove the engine undershield.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

2. Raise the front of the vehicle.
3. Remove the front wheels and tires.
4. Release the stabilizer bar links from the stabilizer bar.
^ Remove the 2 nuts.

5. Remove the 2 heat shields from the stabilizer bar.
^ Remove the 4 nuts.
^ Remove the 4 bolts.





6. Support the front subframe.
7. Lower the rear of the front subframe.
^ Loosen the 2 bolts.
^ Remove and discard the 6 bolts.





8. Release the front stabilizer bar.
^ Remove the 4 nuts.





9. Remove the front stabilizer bar.





Installation
1. Install the front stabilizer bar.
^ Locate the front stabilizer bar clamps.
^ Loosely install the nuts.

2. Secure the front subframe.
^ Tighten the new bolts to 165 Nm (122 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the 2 rear bolts a further 90 degrees.
^ Tighten the bolts to 133 Nm (98 ft. lbs.).

3. Secure the stabilizer bar links.
^ Tighten the nuts to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).

4. Tighten the front stabilizer bar clamp nuts to 56 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the stabilizer bar heat shields.
^ Tighten the nuts.
^ Tighten the bolts.

6. Install the front wheels and tires.
^ Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 Nm (103 ft. lbs.).

7. Install the engine undershield.
8. Check, and if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment.
