2003 Range Rover Steering Sensor Calibration

Situation

When performing steering column repairs the Workshop Manual for the 2003 Range Rover does not provide some valuable information for the completion of the repair.

The use of TestBook/T4 is required to clear codes and perform the calibration of the steering angle sensor on the new column. Please note the following steps that should be performed after aligning the steering wheel with the proper marks. The procedure is required whenever a steering column is replaced.

Action

STEERING ANGLE SENSOR CALIBRATION PROCEDURE

1. Connect TestBook/T4 to the vehicle and load the New Range Rover V002 disc or a later version.

2. Select "System Diagnostics".

3. Follow the on screen instructions and select "ABS".

4. Select "Vehicle Maintenance/Replace ECU/Replace Steering Angle ECU" to clear stored faults.

5. Follow the on screen instructions and select "Vehicle Maintenance".

6. Follow the on screen instructions and select "Steering Angle Calibration" to calibrate the steering angle sensor.

7. Return to the "System Diagnostic" screen and disconnect Testbook/T4 from the vehicle.
