Steering Box Feed Hose
CAUTION: Seal all disconnected pipes and ports to prevent ingress of dirt.REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
2. Raise and support front of vehicle.
3. Remove nut (3) securing Power Assisted Steering (PAS) hose brackets (4) to steering box.
4. Release 2 hose brackets (4) from steering box.
5. Position cloth to catch spillage.
6. Remove banjo bolt (6) securing pump feed hose to steering box and discard 2 washers.
7. Position container to catch spillage.
8. Loosen union (8) and disconnect pump feed hose from PAS pump.
9. Release PAS pipe from 2 radiator lower bracket clips (9).
10. Remove pump feed hose.
INSTALLATION
1. Position feed hose to vehicle.
2. Remove plugs from hose and PAS pump.
3. Clean hose and PAS pump union.
4. Connect feed hose union (8) to PAS pump and tighten to: 16 Nm. (12 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove plugs from hose and steering box.
6. Clean hose and steering box union.
7. Position PAS hose brackets (4) to steering box and secure with nut (3).
8. Install banjo bolt(6) and NEW washers to feed hose and fit to steering box, then tighten banjo bolt (6) to 30 Nm. (22 ft. lbs.).
9. Position feed hose and secure to radiator lower bracket clips (9).
10. Bleed steering system. Service and Repair
11. Remove stand(s) and lower vehicle.
