Center Link: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle on safety stands.





2. Remove nut and bolt (2) securing steering damper to drag link, then release damper.
3. Remove left hand front road wheel.
4. Remove nut securing drag link to drop arm.
5. Remove nut (6) securing drag link to swivel hub.
6. Break taper joints using separatorl No. LRT-57-018, or equivalent, then remove drag link (7).

DISASSEMBLY
1. Loosen nut and bolt securing ball joint clamp.
- Unscrew ball joint.
- Remove clamp.
2. Loosen nut and bolt securing adjuster clamp.
- Unscrew adjuster.
- Remove clamp.

ASSEMBLY
1. Loosely fit adjuster clamp and adjuster.
2. Loosely fit ball joint clamp and ball joint.
3. Adjust drag link to nominal length of 1170 mm ± 1Omm.
4. Orientate clamps (13) as shown in illustration.
5. Secure clamps with nuts and bolts, then tighten a follows:
- 822 mm hardware Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
- 10 mm hardware: 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

INSTALLATION
1. Use steering box centralising feature to centralize
- Install drag link (7).
2. Secure drag link to drop arm and swivel hubs with nuts(6), then tighten to 80 Nm. (59 ft. lbs.)
3. Align damper to drag link.
- Secure with nut and bolt (2), then tighten to 80 Nm. (59 ft. lbs.)
4. Remove safety stands.
- Lower vehicle.
5. Check front wheel alignment.
