A possible defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in some 1995 model year Land Rover vehicles imported by Land Rover North America, Inc.

DESCRIPTION OF DEFECT

A limited number of vehicles may have incorrect nuts fitted to the bolts which attach the driveshaft to the differential pinion flange. This condition could possibly cause one or both of the driveshafts to become disconnected from the differential, which could result in loss of control of the vehicle.

VEHICLES INVOLVED CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION

A total of 155 U.S. and Canadian Range Rover Classic, Discovery and Defender 90 vehicles are involved in this recall action. Customer notification will begin on May 30, 1995. A sample of the customer notification letter is included in this bulletin.

Any unsold vehicles on this list and in dealer stock must be modified prior to sale.
