Subject:
SPECIAL TOOL NUMBERING SYSTEM CHANGE

All Land Rover special tools have been re-numbered for uniformity. The old numbering Systems have been replaced with a standardized format which identifies the primary tool use area by repair group number.

Example: Steering Arm Puller

Tool LRT-57-O12 is a Land Rover Tool (LRT) primarily used for steering repairs (57) and is further identified as tool 012. Under the old system, this tool was known as MS 252A.

Included in this Service Bulletin are two lists which cross-reference the old and new tool numbers and vice-versa.

Each Dealer is required to have at least one (1) of each tool in useable condition (except LRT-5703O which is in transit from the UK).

TOOL ORDERING

Replacement tools are ordered exactly like any part using your Land Rover DCS. We are currently converting from the old to new numbers at the Memphis warehouse. In the interim, order tools using the old numbers.

TOOL BOARD UPDATE

A separate Service Bulletin will be issued and will describe an upcoming tool board upgrade program which includes new overlays and one (1) additional tool board.

Once in place, all Land Rover special tools will be neatly displayed on five (5) tool boards.
