WARRANTY PARTS RETURN PROCEDURE
The following change in policy becomes effective for all claims received by LRNA on or after July 6, 1993.
WARRANTY PARTS HANDLING
All parts replaced under Land Rover Warranties (or Goodwill) become the property of LRNA. As a part is removed from a vehicle it must be tagged using a Land Rover Warranty Parts Tag, drained of fluids and cleaned.
All displaced warranty parts are to be safely stored until requested for return or notified to scrap.
PARTS RETURN
Certain parts will be requested for return to LRNA for engineering evaluation, manufacture or diagnostic procedural development or for supplier recovery.
Affected warranty claims will be credited prior to any request for a part to be returned. Parts will be requested via a Land Rover Parts Return Request Printout. Two copies of this print out will be sent monthly along with the warranty claims status report.
Upon receipt of the Land Rover Parts Return Request, the dealership must complete the appropriate sections of the print out, pack all parts listed into a single container and ship the contents via Land Rover North America's designated carrier. Pre-printed bills of lading are available through the Warranty Department.
One copy of the Parts Return Request print out must be sent with the contents, the remaining copy is to be retained for the dealership's records.
Requested parts must be cleaned, drained of fluids, properly tagged with a LRNA Warranty Parts Tag and received by LRNA with a completed copy of the Parts Return Request within 30 days from the date of request.
Failure to follow these procedures may result in a debit to the dealership's account.
WARRANTY PARTS SCRAPPING
In Conjunction with the Warranty Parts Return Request, dealers will also receive a Warranty Parts Scrapping Report.
Upon receipt of the Warranty Parts Scrapping Report affected parts should be disposed of in a safe manner. Warranty parts are not considered reusable and must be rendered permanently inoperable prior to disposal.
Under no circumstances should parts be sold or used for cores, remanufactured or recycled for any future purpose.
