CONDITION SUMMARY:
PROCEDURE CHANGE TO REMOVE AND INSTALL A STEERING GEAR
Situation:
Land Rover engineers have studied the service process for removing and installing the steering gear assembly on Defender vehicles. Significant process changes have been made that refine and improve the process which allows the operation to be carried out in less time. Original service time allowed for Panhard Rod bushing removal and installation. The service time has been corrected to only allow for removal of the Pan hard Rod, not the bushings.
NOTE:
The relevant Workshop Manual Sections related to this Service Procedure will be updated at the next available opportunity.
