DETAIL

Following a number of product enhancements and process quality improvements that have been introduced to shock absorbers fitted to Land Rover products, the following initiative has been jointly agreed by the supplier and Land Rover to reduce Warranty return "No fault found" units.

Under normal conditions should a shock absorber require replacing on a vehicle that is either in first year warranty or has completed less than 12000 miles, normal practice would be to replace both shock absorbers on the affected axle. It is now only necessary to replace the one defective shock absorber providing the vehicle is within the parameters above.

NOTE
No fault found units will be returned to dealer via the normal warranty channels.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the appropriate workshop manual section 60 and 64 for repair instructions.

Vehicles that require replacement of shock absorbers outside the 12000 mile parameter but within first year warranty will require the replacement of both shock absorbers on the affected axle.

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply making reference to the parameters described above.
