Replacement Procedure for Swivel Housing Seal

SITUATION:

NEW METHOD FOR SWIVEL PIN HOUSING OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

Methods engineers at Land Rover have studied the service process for replacement of the swivel pin housing oil seal for Defender models. Significant process changes have been made which refine and improve the process and allow the operation to be carried out more efficiently.

RESOLUTION:

FOLLOW THE NEW SWIVEL PIN HOUSING SEAL PROCEDURE

NOTE:
The GTR Workshop Manual Section will be updated at the next available opportunity. In the interim the new processes provided here will facilitate repairs.

Should it become necessary to replace a swivel pin housing oil seal on a Defender, refer to the procedure detailed in this bulletin for more effective use of your time.
