ELECTRONIC AIR SUSPENSION (EAS) - CALIBRATION
E.A.S. calibration is normally only done when an ECU or height sensor is replaced. This re-establishes the specified height and level of the vehicle.
In the case of calibration to address customer complaints of lean, height or attitude, but where the ECU and/or height sensors are within specification, perform the work procedure below.
WORK PROCEDURE
^ Using locking pliers CAREFULLY grasp the shaft of each potentiometer.
^ Pull out and push in on the potentiometer shafts with a force of about 20 lbs. (10 kg).
Pull in line with the shaft, not at an angle.
^ Look for end play between the shaft and potentiometer body - see illustration.
^ Replace any potentiometer with end play greater than .020" (.50 mm) as measured with a feeler gauge between the dust cover and potentiometer body.
Do not mistake looseness of the dust shield to the shaft with end play. You are looking for relative movement between the shaft and body of the potentiometer.
