DIEHARD BATTERY - CHECKING/AUTHORIZATION PROCEDURE
Before replacing a DieHard battery, please do the following:
- Review Service Bulletin P88-016 of 12/05/88.*
- Perform the battery test procedure with the following change:
- LOAD TEST AT 300 AMPS FOR 15 SECONDS. The cold crank rating for the DieHard is greater than the Chloride and requires the higher figure.
The battery MUST be at a specific gravity of at least 1.260 for the test to be accurate. If less, recharge at a 10-15 AMP rate until charged sufficiently for testing.
If a battery replacement is indicated, call the RRNA Product Support Hotline for authorization at 1-800-562-5824. Please be prepared to describe reason for replacement.
