WARNING: Disconnect the battery negative terminal before adjusting drive belts to avoid the possibility of the vehicle being started.

ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT

Adjust

Alternator Drive Belt:

1. Loosen the alternator fasteners and the adjustment link.
2. Pivot the alternator to give the required belt tension.
3. Belt tension should be 4-6mm (0.19-0.25 in) at the point indicated by the bold arrow.
4. Tighten the alternator bolts and the adjustment link.

NOTE: Check adjustment after running engine at fast idle speed for 3-5 minutes if a new belt has been fitted.
