Fluid - M/T: Service and Repair

1. Remove the vehicle speed sensor.





2. Remove the 10 mm bolt and remove the speedometer driven gear assembly. (Do not lose plastic insert.)
3. Remove the drain plug and washer. Drain the oil into a suitable container.
4. Install a new washer and the drain plug.

Tightening torque: 30 - 45 ft. lbs. (40.8 - 61.2 Nm)





5. Add the necessary amount of the specified oil through the speedometer driven gear assembly mounting hole.

Specified oil:
Grade: API service GL-4 or GL-5
Viscosity: SAE 75W-9O
Capacity: 2.83 US qts. (2.68 liters)

6. Verify the oil level as described under inspection.





7. Install the speedometer driven gear assembly. (Make certain the plastic insert is in place.)
8. Install the vehicle speed sensor.
