REMOVAL
1. Loosen the wheel lug nuts.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
3. Remove the wheels.
4. Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to REMOVAL NOTE.
REMOVAL NOTE:
Tie-Rod End
1. Pull out the cotter pins, and remove the nuts.
2. Separate the tie-rod from the knuckle arm with the SST (or equivalent).
NOTICE: Replace the nuts temporarily so the screw threads do not become damaged.
Steering Rack And Linkage
1. Remove the steering rack from the right side of the vehicle. If necessary, replace rack and linkage entirely, do not disassemble.
INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal
INSTALLATION NOTE:
1. Install and tighten the four steering rack nuts.
Tightening torque: 23-34 ft. lbs. (31-46 Nm)
2. Tighten the universal joint pinch bolt.
Tightening torque: 13-20 ft. lbs. (18-27 Nm)
3. Bleed air from the power steering fluid.
4. Adjust the toe-in.
