SPORTAGE FUEL TANK





The fuel tank, the gauge unit and the fuel pump pick-up were revised beginning with 11/13/95 production to improve fuel gauge accuracy and fuel pump pick-up efficiency. A summary of the revisions to these components are as follows:

^ The fuel pick-up baffle in the bottom of the fuel tank has been moved forward towards the center of the tank.

^ The fuel pump assembly pick-up tube angle and depth has been changed to correspond with the revised baffle location in the tank.

^ The fuel tank gauge unit float arm, low fuel indicator light resistor and gauge unit calibrations have been changed to match the revised fuel tank configuration.

The revised fuel tank, gauge unit and fuel pump are interchangeable (as a set) in all Sportage models manufactured before 11/13/95.
