Shift Interlock Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove interlock mechanism as outlined in Shift Interlock/Service and Repair.
2. Remove center console and trim.
3. Disconnect and remove cable from shift bracket.
4. Remove solenoid electrical connector at cable.
5. Remove accelerator pedal, then release cable from accelerator clip and remove cable.

INSTALLATION
1. Snap cable base assembly into large square opening in steering column and secure with mounting screws.

NOTE: To prevent interference with throttle pedal, Interlock cable must be clipped to RH stud under throttle pedal.

2. Route cable between accelerator pedal mounting studs and secure on RH stud with clip.
3. Place ignition key in the Accessory position, then remove shipping pin from plastic base.
4. Connect Cable eyelet to bellcrank pin.
5. Place gear selector in park position.
6. Push spring-loaded cable adjuster forward and snap cable in bracket.
7. Adjust cable as outlined in Shift Interlock Cable/Adjustments.
