Magnetic Switch Pull-In Test

This test must be performed in less than 10 seconds to prevent coil from burning.

Fig 2 Magnetic Switch Terminal Identification:

1. Disconnect field coil wire from M terminal of magnetic switch.
2. Connect a 12 volt battery between S terminal and M terminal.
3. If pinion moves out, pull-in coil is satisfactory. If pinion does not move, replace magnetic switch.
