SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Speed control may be inoperative, intermittently inoperative or may drop out while engaged.

Discussion:





If speed control problems are encountered involving any of the symptoms described above, inspect the park, neutral position switch harness at the throttle cable bracket on the transmission (see Figure 1). If any chafing is present that could indicate a short in the wires feeding the, park, neutral position switch, repair the damage and route the harness away from the bracket.
