Service Procedure

1. Using the power seat switch, move the driver's seat all the way forward.

2. Remove the side shield from the driver's seat. Do not disconnect the power seat switch electrical connector.

3. Using the power seat switch, move the seat all the way to the rear and raise it to the full up position.





4. Remove the inboard pivot bolt attaching the seat back to the seat cushion (Figure 1).

5. Using the power seat switch, move the seat to the full forward position.





6. Lift the rear cushion cover skirt and remove the hog rings that attach the trim flap to the flex mat frame (Figure 2).

7. Disconnect the seat back electrical connector(s) for the power lumbar support and heated seat (if equipped) (Figure 2).





8. Recline the seat back, then remove the seat back recliner attaching bolts. Remove the seat back assembly and set aside (Figure 3).

NOTE:
Feed the heated seat and/or lumbar support wires through the seat frame.





9. Remove the hog rings that hold the front seat cushion cover J-strips to the flex mat frame (Figure 4). Remove all cushion cover J-strips from the flex mat frame.

10. Remove the hog rings that attach the front of the foam seat cushion to the flex mat.

11. Disconnect the power seat switch connector, then remove the seat cushion cover and foam cushion.





12. Disconnect the springs from the flex mat frame (Figure 5). Remove the flex mat and set aside.

13. Disconnect both electrical connectors from the memory seat module (Figure 5).

14. Remove the screw that attaches the module bracket to the inner frame rail (Figure 5). Save for later re-use. Remove the memory seat module and bracket as an assembly.

15. Carefully remove the memory seat module from the bracket. Discard the bracket.

16. Install the memory seat module on the provided bracket.

17. Carefully remove the wiring harness push clip from the inner frame rail (Figure 5).





18. Inspect the wiring harness for damage in the area near the memory seat module location. Tape any exposed wiring and repair as necessary (Figure 6).

19. Wrap electrical tape around both module wire harness sections between the module connectors and the wiring harness convolute (Figure 6).





20. Install the memory seat module with the new bracket. Locate the module slightly forward of its original location so that the front hole in the bracket is aligned with the inner rail hole where the wiring harness push clip was attached (Figure 7).

21. Reinstall the wiring harness push clip (through the front bracket hole), into its original location, securing the new bracket (Figure 7).

22. Align the rear bracket slot with the inner rail screw hole where the original bracket tab was located. Install the module bracket screw and tighten securely (Figure 7).

23. Connect the two memory seat module electrical connectors.





24. Install the two (2) provided J-strips on the inboard edge of the flex mat (edge nearest to the memory seat module) (Figure 8).

25. Attach the flex mat to the seat frame springs. Make sure that the flex mat is installed with the crosswire wire ends pointing up, so that they face the seat cushion foam (Figure 8).

26. Install the seat cushion foam and cushion cover on the flex mat.

27. Secure the cushion foam to the front of the flex mat with two (2) of the provided hog rings. Be sure that the hog rings are attached around the flex mat frame.

28. Install the seat cushion cover, clipping the J-strips on the seat frame. Secure the cushion cover to the frame with two (2) of the provided hog rings (Figure 4).

29. Reinstall the seat back assembly. Tighten the recliner bolts to 250 in-lbs (28 N.m) (Figure 3).

NOTE:
Feed the lumbar support and heated seat wires (if equipped) through the frame.

30. Reconnect the seat back lumbar support and heated seat electrical connector(s).

31. Connect the rear trim flap to the flex mat frame with two (2) of the provided hog rings (Figure 2).

NOTE:
Be careful when installing hog rings. Do not damage the wiring harness.

32. Attach the power seat switch electrical connector.

33. Install the driver's seat side shield.

34. Move the seat to the full rear and up position.

35. Install the inboard pivot bolt. Tighten the pivot bolt to 35 ft-lbs (47 N.m) (Figure 1).
