Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Belt Routing Non A/C:

Belt Routing A/C Equipped:

1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
2. Loosen power steering pump rear mounting bolts, pivot bolt and locknut.
3. Loosen power steering pump adjusting bolt and remove drive belt.
4. Route new drive belt as shown.
5. Tighten power steering pump adjusting bolt until proper belt tension is achieved. Refer to Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Specifications for specifications.
6. Torque rear mounting bolt, pivot bolt and locknut to 20 ft.lbs.
7. Connect battery negative cable.
