Component Tests

POWER INPUT
Inspect fuse and replace if necessary.

REAR WIPER RELAY
Place ignition switch in Accessory position and wiper switch in the Wash position, then remove liftgate cover.
1. Using an ohmmeter, with the ignition switch in the Off position, test rear wiper relay terminals 2 and 4.
2. If ohmmeter reads infinity, repair open to splice in body harness.
3. Using a voltmeter, test rear wiper relay terminals 1 and 5.

4. If battery voltage is not indicated, refer to switch test.
5. Test rear wiper relay terminal 3.
6. If battery voltage is not indicated, replace relay.

REAR WIPER MOTOR
1. Place ignition switch in the Accessory position and the wiper switch in the Wash position, then install relay.
2. Using an ohmmeter, turn ignition switch Off, then test rear wiper motor terminal J.
3. If ohmmeter reads infinity, repair open to splice in liftgate harness.
4. Using a voltmeter, test terminal K.
5. If battery voltage is not indicated, refer to switch test.
6. Test terminal H.
7. If battery voltage is indicated, replace motor.
8. If battery voltage is not indicated, repair open from wiper relay terminal 3.

REAR WIPER/WASHER SWITCH
1. Remove wiper/washer switch, then reconnect below instrument panel. Backprobe switch connector, with ignition switch in the Accessory position.
2. Using a voltmeter, test switch connector terminal B.
3. If battery voltage is not indicated, repair open to fuse.
4. Test switch connector terminal D.
5. If battery voltage is indicated, repair open to rear wipe motor terminal K.
6. If battery voltage is not indicated, replace switch.
7. With the switch in the Wipe position, test switch connector terminal C.
8. If battery voltage is indicated, repair open to rear wipe relay terminals 1 and 5.
9. If battery voltage is not indicated, replace switch.
