Hesitation, Sag, Stumble

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION
Momentary lack of response as the accelerator is pushed down. Can occur at any vehicle speed. Usually most sever when trying to make the vehicle move, as from a stop sign. May cause engine to stall if severe enough.


POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION


Secondary Wires - Check for bare wires or arching. Check secondary wire resistance.


Spark plugs - Check for wet plugs, cracks, wear, improper gap, burned electrodes or heavy deposits.


Ignition Timing - Check distributor indexing


Engine Controller - Check for fault codes and proper ignition grounds.
