Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

1. Remove rocker arm cover attaching screws, then remove rocker arm cover as described under Cylinder Head/Service and Repair. Silicone sealant is used between rocker arm cover and cylinder head mating surfaces. To avoid damaging rocker arm cover, do not pry cover upward until seal has been completely broken. When prying cover upward, pry only in areas marked ``Pry Here'', which are located near rocker arm cover bolt holes.

2. Remove rocker arm cap screws by alternately loosening one turn at a time to prevent damage to bridge, Fig.6.
3. Remove rocker arm bridge, pivots and rocker arms. Tag all components so they can be reinstalled in the same position as removed.
4. Reverse procedure to install. When installing rocker arm cap screws, tighten each screw alternately and evenly approximately one turn at a time to prevent damage to bridge.
